Memory Palace

This sculpture refers to the interconnected world we build through our collective memories, while exploring the parallel invisible communication networks that sustain forests. Twelve redwood pillars are latticed by handwoven threads, paraphrasing the Indian tradition of tying threads around trees as offerings with our contemporary understanding of forest ecosystems. The piece invites viewers to consider trees as community-driven beings that share nutrients and warnings through underground root-mycelium networks, while simultaneously reflecting to the networks we build between ourselves and each other.
