Rana’s work has been commissioned in the Bay Area at prestigious and highly visible public sites, and by private collectors. These sites have included Johnson’s Park in Palo Alto, Menlo College, Dublin city center, and Heritage Park in Dublin. Rana’s projects for these sites have explored materials ranging from aluminum to untreated wood, and have spanned human to monumental scales. They have enabled Rana to build a local community surrounding her work, and to specifically address children through certain projects, having noted that they are most often neglected in presentations of public and fine art. Privately commissioned sculptures such as Bed of Roses further enable Rana to integrate new technologies with her dominant medium of untreated wood, as the roses sitting on the work’s spherical surface are 3-D printed.
